Privacy Policy
Air Brake Rundown ("we", "us") is an air brake pre-trip checklist app for commercial drivers, run from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. This page explains what information the app and this website handle. We keep it simple on purpose: most of what you enter stays on your own phone.
What stays on your phone
- Your country, province or state, licence class, units and display settings.
- Your check progress, pass or fail marks, readings, timer results and notes.
- Defect photos you take on a failed step.
- Your odometer reading, if you enter one, and your saved reports.
- Your acceptance of the terms, with the date, time and terms version.
We do not receive this information. It is stored in the app on your device. If you delete the app, this saved information is deleted with it.
What you choose to send
- Reports to your employer or mechanic. When you tap send, the app opens your own email or text messaging app with the report filled in. The message goes from you to the people you pick, through your own account. We do not see it.
- Feedback. If you use the Send feedback button, your message is sent to airbrakerundown@gmail.com along with whatever you write.
- Launch and app news. If you sign up with your email address, we use it only to send news about Air Brake Rundown. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not see or store your payment card details. We use a subscription service (RevenueCat) to confirm whether your subscription or free trial is active. It receives a random app user ID and your purchase status, not your checklist data.
Voice guidance
Spoken steps use the voices that are already built into your phone. Your voice is not recorded.
Camera and notifications
The app asks to use your camera only when you choose to take a defect photo. Photos stay on your phone unless you choose to include them in something you send.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services needed to run the app (the app stores and the subscription service above), or if the law requires it.
Children
Air Brake Rundown is made for commercial drivers and is not directed at children.
Your choices
You can delete saved reports and photos inside the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone. To ask about, correct or delete anything you have sent us, such as a launch-news email or feedback, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
